The San Diego Animal Support Foundation (SDASF) is a private nonprofit 501c3 organization, volunteer dependant group that is dedicated to improving the welfare of animals in overburdened, underfunded local shelters and rescues.

Our mission is to is to actively promote the proper care and treatment of animals, as well as encourage the adoption of shelter/rescue pets with the cooperation of the local media. Additionally, we help local rescue organizations pay for spay/neuter surgeries, fund imperative animal welfare projects, recruit volunteers, and maintain a small medical fund to help pets in need of emergency treatment. We support more than 28 local nonprofits. With the exception of one part time employee, all SDASF members are volunteers. The SDASF does NOT operate a shelter of our own, rather we act as an umbrella organization assisting already existing shelters and foster agencies.

How we use our resources:

 Encourage the adoption of shelter and rescue pets through media campaigns and daily television pet segments. See our TV Pets page!

 Promote education and proper care of animals through pet segments, press releases and articles.

 Help local rescue organization and the community pay for spay & neuter surgeries.

 Fund imperative animal welfare projects

 Work with the public to provide emergency medical treatment for animals in need.

 Our car donation program helps dozens of local rescue and shelter organizations.
